John McCarthy (born 19 November 1989) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL. He played for the Collingwood Football Club between 2008 to 2011.
Drafted with the 31st selection in the 2007 National Draft, McCarthy is a midfielder.[1] He was delisted by Collingwood at the end of the 2011 season.[2]
In the 2012 Pre-season Draft, he was drafted by the Power.
His father Shane and brother Matthew both played league football with Geelong. He also had two uncles, Bernie and Gavan, who played for North Melbourne.
